MACRAO Agreement

Admissions Policy: Transfer Students.

Kendall has the following policies regarding the Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (MACRAO) agreement from Michigan Community Colleges. The Agreement applies to students entering bachelor degree programs only.

1. Students with an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree or an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree:

Students who transfer to Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University from a Michigan community college with a MACRAO stamped Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree or an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree, and with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better based on a 4.0 scale, are admitted with junior standing and lower-division general education requirements are considered to have been fulfilled. To graduate with a Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University Bachelor’s degree, these students are required to fulfill the following additional general education requirements: three semester credits in an upper-level humanities course, three semester credits in an upper-level social science course, and KCHU 320 Advanced Rhetoric. The required Art History courses are in addition to the General Education requirements.

2. Students with an Associate of Applied Arts (A.A.A.) degree or an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree:

Students who transfer to Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University from a Michigan community college with a MACRAO stamped Associate of Applied Arts (A.A.A.) degree or an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree, and with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better based on a 4.0 scale, are admitted to Kendall with junior standing. If the pre-transfer curriculum fulfills all of the general education requirements established for a MACRAO stamped Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree or an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree, the student is considered to have fulfilled the lower-division general education requirements. Additional general education requirements necessary to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree are as indicated in #1 above.

3. Students with no associate degree:

Students who transfer to Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University from a Michigan community college with a MACRAO stamped transcript who do not possess an associate degree are considered to have fulfilled the lower-division general education requirements. Additional general education requirements necessary to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree are as indicated in #1 above.
