Scholarship of Merit

Scholarships of Merit are awarded annually to new undergraduate, current undergraduate as well as current graduate students.

The 2013-2014 academic year application deadline is February 15, 2013 for both new students to Kendall as well as currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students.

New Undergraduate students:

New undergraduate students for the 2013-2014 academic year must include the following application materials:

  1. A completed Scholarship of Merit Application Form - please see Quick Links (New Student Application 2013-2014).
  2. A CD Rom of six (6) images of your best work. Images should be formatted as JPEG files. Images must be labeled with your name and an image number. Images will not be returned.
  3. One page IMAGE LIST that corresponds to numbered images and indicates title, medium, size, and date of completion.
  4. Brief Artist Statement explaining and/or describing your work. (This is separate than the Statement of Purpose submitted with your application for admission).
  5. A completed ADMISSIONS File, that includes transcripts from high school and/or college, a statement of purpose, as described on the admissions application, and portfolio review or Interior Design Observation Exercise.

*** Awards are disbursed based on full-time enrollment (12 or more credit hours per semester) and students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 for renewal consideration and funding availability.

Currently Enrolled Undergraduate and Graduate students:

Students must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits), undergraduate students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3, and graduate students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 to apply.

Your submission must include the following application materials:

  1. A completed Scholarship of Merit Application Form - please see Quick Links (Current Student General Application 2013-2014 or Current Student Art History Application 2013-2014). Please note, students majoring in Art History have different application requirements. Please download the appropriate application form based on your program of study.
  2. A CD Rom of six (6) images of your best work. Images should be formatted as JPEG files. Images must be labeled with your name and an image number. Please see Quick Links (Image Template). Images will not be returned. Printed versions of each image must also be submitted. (Art History students are exempt from this requirement.)
  3. One page IMAGE LIST, that corresponds to numbered images and indicates title, medium, size, and date of completion. This must be submitted digitally as well as by hard copy. (Art History students are exempt from this requirement.)
  4. Artist Statement/Essay (approximately 2-3 pages in length) in which you respond to the questions found on the application form. (This is separate than the Statement of Purpose submitted with your application for admission). This must be submitted digitally as well as by hard copy.
