KCAD Art Education Community Connections ExhibitionDec. 3-10, Atrium Gallery, 17 Fountain St. NW Opening Reception December 3rd, 2013 10am - 11am | KCAD | 17 Fountain St. NW Student Exhibition featuring artwork from Forest Hills Northern High School and Kentwood Explorer Elementary
Students from the Art Education have partnered with special education programs at Forrest Hills Northern High School and Kentwood Explorer Elementary School to create a truly transformative educational experience. KCAD students created and implemented a rigorous curriculum for the special education students that incorporated both art and integrated standards while considering multiple intelligences and learning styles. Now, in order to celebrate these beautiful children and give them a chance to share their talents, KCAD has reserved the atrium space for a special exhibition of the young students' art work.
This collaboration exemplifies what art education is all about: making the world better through hands-on, engaging learning experiences that explore a world of possibility thorough the arts.
