You may have thought about a future in art, but have you thought about how you’ll get there? Portfolio Camp helps high school students discover what it means to be enrolled at KCAD, a place where collaboration, innovation, and community engagement will prepare you and your talent to create lasting, meaningful impact through a career in art and design.

Over the course of two weeks, you’ll become completely immersed in an artistic and cultural exploration that will change the way you think about your creative potential. Working alongside high school students from other states and countries, you’ll choose between a design drawing or fine art drawing track and dive into a series of dynamic experiences like 3D printing, portfolio preparation, art theory, art journaling, research, open drawing, design challenges and ceramics. And since a creative mind requires an equal mix of work and play, you and your fellow campers can take a break from your artistic endeavors to travel to cool places like Lake Michigan, John Ball Zoo, and Ambrose Design Studio. A housing option is available.
