Sarah Joseph has been the Director of Exhibitions at Kendall since 2001. She received her MFA in Sculpture from the University of Oregon and BFA from Miami University in Ohio. Prior to joining Kendall, she spent a number of years doing gallery/museum work in various institutions. In addition to her work at Kendall, Sarah enjoys chasing after her two small children, reading, and cooking delicious concoctions with her husband when she can find the time.

Michele earned her BFA in Sculpture from Kendall College of Art and Design in 2004. She then went on to earn her MFA in Drawing and Sculpture along with a Certificate in Museum Studies from Northern Illinois University, where she was the recipient of a Distinguished University Fellowship. During this time, she held an assistantship position as Preparator at the NIU Art Museum. Upon graduating she moved to Michigan and took a Preparator’s position at Grand Valley State University while also curating independent exhibitions. During her time in Michigan she has been involved in the local arts community and served on the Visual Arts Curatorial Committee for eight years at the Urban Institute for Contemporary Art. Michele joined the Gallery in 2009 as the Assistant Director of Exhibitions.

Tanya Bakija is the Lead Gallery Preparator at Kendall College of Art & Design. She is an important behind-the-scenes player for the exhibitions at Kendall, ensuring that each installation is executed successfully. She received her BFA from Michigan State University and MFA from Kendall. For several years, Tanya has been active in the arts communities in West and Mid-Michigan. Tanya lives in Mid-Michigan with her husband, four cats and several chickens.
