Group tours are reserved for groups with 10 or more members. Our group tour program is designed to meet the needs of prospective college students in high school or groups with members this age or older with special consideration granted for groups that are a part of the Believe 2 Become program. Group tours are not intended for general school field trip purposes. Group tours are available on most weekdays. Please read the information below and complete the group visit request at the bottom of this page.
In the unlikely event that KCAD is closed due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, tours will also be cancelled. Closings are announced on local TV stations and on the KCAD website.
Campus Tour | 60-90 minutes (approx.)
A 60-90 minute walking tour lead by a KCAD tour guide (either student or staff). The KCAD tour guide will discuss information about the admissions process, KCAD programs, and scholarship opportunities while leading the group through our facilities.
Add a Studio Experience | + 60 minutes to the Campus Tour
There is no single American lens, understanding another person’s point of view requires empathy and egalitarianism. Participants will explore the concept of personal and cultural lens in a studio experience led by KCAD faculty. Participants examine artwork and engage in group activities to help them recognize how cultural perspective effects each person’s interpretation of artwork, events, and people. In the studio component creative problem solving and consideration of multiple points of view are applied in a design-based lesson.
The Studio Experience is only available for visits requested for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during the months of November - May, subject to availability. If it is not possible to add the Studio Experience to your selected date, it will be communicated in your confirmation email.
