Parking

We are located in a vibrant downtown area and it’s a good idea to scope out your parking options before a visit to our campus.

Visitor Parking

We recommend parking in the Grand Rapids city ramp just west of the KCAD campus (there are entrances on both Ionia and Pearl Streets.) This ramp is right next door to our campus.

Student Parking Options

Again this year, KCAD will be able to offer you free bus passes for the city’s public transportation bus system. They will be available in KCAD’s Activities and Resource Center (ARC). Please watch your Ferris email for further updates from the ARC.

  • KCAD leases parking spaces from the City of Grand Rapids. A small number DASH lot 7 and DASH lot 9 cards are available for $192 per semester plus a $20 security deposit. The deposit will be refunded once the card is returned to the KCAD Student Services Office, as long as you do not owe money to the College. Please have a payment of $212 ready when you pick up your card. The DASH shuttle bus drops off within 1 block of KCAD.
  • We also have parking cards available for the Gerald R. Ford Museum North Lot. These cards are available for $200 per semester plus a $25 security deposit. The deposit will be refunded once the card is returned to the KCAD Student Services Office, as long as you do not owe money to the College. Please have a payment of $225 ready when you pick up your card. Also you will need to bring the make, model, year, color and license plate number of the vehicle you will be driving. If you will also be using an alternate vehicle from time to time, please bring the specifics for that one also.
  • Ride the Rapid. Again this year, you will be able to get fee bus passes from KCAD's Activities and Resource Center. The Rapid is a public transportation system for the greater Grand Rapids area. View all available routes and the times the buses run.

If you live more than 1/3 of a mile off a bus line, PASS may be able to connect you to the nearest bus stop for only $3.50. You must be registered by 4:30 pm the day before the trip is needed.
