Adjunct Instructor Illustrates Power of Converging Design and Business at TEDx GVSU

Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University (KCAD) adjunct instructor Ryan Lafferty was a featured speaker a recent TEDx event held at Grand Valley State University (GVSU) in Allendale, Mich.

Lafferty, who in addition to teaching in KCAD’s Industrial Design and Collaborative Design programs also teaches marketing courses at GVSU and runs his own communications and marketing firm, spoke to the vast potential of converging design and business in a talk titled “Living In The And: How Business and Design Can Work Together To Create Magic.”

In it, he explored how the design processes can empower businesses to not only solve existing challenges, but to identify new and unique opportunities for growth and innovation as well by embracing opposing perspectives and prioritizing forward thinking.
