Ceramics Professor Returns from Italy
Israel â??Izzyâ? Davis, Assistant Professor of Sculpture and Functional Art, recently returned from a trip to Muggia, Italy in May where he designed and built a wood-fired kiln with long time friend and mentor Bill Farrell. The kiln was built to support programming for Ceramica Artistica Prospectiva (C/P), a ceramics design and production company that hosts international workshops and symposia on a by-yearly basis. Davis will return to Muggia to make work and fire the kiln in August. His transportation and stay in Muggia has been funded by C/P and private donation from a local manufacturer in Spring Lake, MI.
