Illustration Alum Shares Industry Expertise in Latest Issue of ImagineFX Magazine
Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University (KCAD) alumna Alyssa (Parsons) Menold (’13, BFA Illustration) recently shared some insight into her work as a professional illustrator with readers of the UK-based digital art magazine ImagineFX.
Each issue of the magazine contains a Workshop section where professional illustrators give readers a window into the processes, tools, and techniques they use in the field. For the March 2017 issue, Menold explains how she created the cover for a new rule book for the tabletop role-playing game Shadowrun, from concept sketches to revisions to the final product.
The cover Menold created for a new Shadowrun rulebook (Shadowrun is registered trademarks and/or trademarks of The Topps Company, Inc. in the United States and/or other countries. Image shown with permission.)
As a freelance illustrator, Menold, who also teaches as an adjunct faculty member at KCAD, specializes in fantasy and sci-fi work, including a number of illustrations for the Shadowrun franchise.
