Kendall Students Sweep Local ADDY Awards
Kendall Graphic Design, Interactive Media and Illustration majors swept the American Advertising Federation West Michigan Chapter‚??s annual Student ADDY Awards.
Elizabeth Zimmerman received the Best of Show Interactive Award for her piece, ‚??The Great Pacific Garbage Patch, Viral PSA Video‚?Ě and Sarah Vanderson received the Judges‚?? Choice Award for her Yummm Cereal packaging.
Gold ADDYs were presented to Elizabeth Zimmerman, Michael Kleinpaste, Shannon Averill and Sarah Vanderson. In addition, seventeen Silver ADDYs were awarded to Christopher McClurken, Cody Eckert, Coryne Hillmann, Eleanor Steiger, Erinn Niewiadomski, Jennifer High, Katie Brandt, Kellie Van Sweden, Amanda Ross, Mary Bradshaw, Michelle Kozak, Scott Schermer, Shannon Averill and Shawna Vandelier.
The AAF Student ADDY Awards Competition is a unique national awards program designed specially for college students. Work entered at the local level can move up to the regional and national judging.
Applicants must be enrolled full- or part-time in an accredited U.S. educational institution. Student interns are eligible to enter.
Students may submit work developed specifically for the Student ADDY competition or from previous projects or student contests (work must be created while the entrant is a student not employed in the advertising industry).
In addition to the student winners, the new Kendall view book, created by Grey Matter Group, won a Professional Silver ADDY, and the Kendall 2009 Beaux Arts Ball materials, created by by Director of Graphic Design Elena Tislerics and her team, in cooperation with alumna Brie Misyak and the Alumni Association, won both a Silver and Gold ADDY.
