Kendall will host a panel discussion on what sustainability means to design disciplines such as architecture, graphic design, interior design and industrial design, on Thursday, Jan. 20, at 5:30 p.m. in the Student Commons on the Kendall College campus.

Design West Michigan and Kendall are collaborating with the West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum and MiBiz, and several professional design organizations including the American Institute of Architects, AIGA (formerly known as the American Institute of Graphic Arts), International Interior Design Association and the Industrial Designers Society of America to serve as hosts for the discussion.

John Berry, executive director of DWM, will moderate the panel discussion. Panel members include Greg Metz, AIA; Kevin Budelman, AIGA; Lee Davis, IIDA; Dave Muyer, IDSA; and Joe Jeup of Jeup Furniture. The participants will explore the belief that design decisions have a direct impact on sustainability issues. At the conclusion of the panel discussion, there will be a question-and-answer session with participation encouraged from attendees. Following the event, the Kendall Alumni Association is hosting a reception at GRid70, located at 70 Ionia Avenue.
