The Bienenstock Furniture and Interior Design Competitions have been held every year since 1984 and were created to support education and research in the furniture industry. Each year they award scholarships to both the winning students and their educational programs.

Seto, who was named a finalist in last year's competition, took home first place and a $5,000 scholarship this year with her Nocturne lounge chair design. KCAD’s Furniture Design program will also receive $1,000 in conjunction with the win. Seto will be honored with a special award dinner at the upcoming High Point Market, the largest furniture industry trade show in the world.
