News Bites: Graphic Design Student Wins Herman Miller Student Video Contest

Posted May 13, 2014 in News BitesGraphic Design

This year’s Herman Miller Student Video Contest challenged undergraduates from around the country to create a video that answered the question, “Why does your campus matter?,” and Graphic Design student Kevin Czarnik has won top honors and a $2,500 prize with a moving and elegant portrayal of KCAD’s creative ecosystem.

The contest is a component of the Grand Rapids-based and industry-leading furniture manufacturer’s larger efforts to engage educational institutions in order to create design solutions that enhance the learning experience.

Submissions could be humorous or serious, and Czarnik chose the latter, pairing arresting sequences of individual students immersed in their own creativity with deliberate and inspiring narration that framed the KCAD campus as a place that encourages exploration, rewards dedication, and radiates infinite possibility.
