News Bites: Interior Design Students Dominate 2014 IIDA Michigan Virginia North Student Competition
For the second year in a row, KCAD Interior Design students won big in the Virginia North Student Competition, held annually by the Michigan chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA).
Open to junior and senior-level undergraduates, the competition asked students to submit one of their existing or completed projects and write an essay describing how their design solution impacts health, safety and welfare, or sustainability.
Of the four KCAD students who took home top honors, three graduated in May. Here’s a look at their winning designs:
First Place – Amanda Klein (graduated)
Second Place (tied) – Courtney Wierzbicki (2014 Valedictorian)
Second Place (tied) – Marci Gibson (graduated)
Third Place – Dawon Kim (senior in fall ’14)
Congrats to these graduates on yet another accomplishment in their tremendous KCAD careers! We wish them the best on the next leg of their respective journeys.
