Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University’s (KCAD’s) Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts (UICA) has announced the lineup for its Coming Home exhibition suite, and three members of the KCAD community are included.
Alumna Kelly Allen (’08, MFA), Sculpture and Functional Art Associate Professor Bob Marsh, and Professor and Chair of both the Master of Arts in Visual and Critical Studies and Painting programs Diane Zeeuw will be showing their work in the suite of exhibitions, which showcases artists who are from Michigan, are currently based in Michigan, or who have spent considerable time in the state professionally.
Allen has exhibited nationally and internationally in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, and London, among other places. Her work focuses on unifying images, colors, and textures to spark conversation and formulate new meanings.
Marsh will be exhibiting a series of new work, some of which was developed during his recent sabbatical and residency at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village, Colo.
Zeeuw has recently exhibited her work at the, Zhou B Art Center in Chicago, the Maryland Federation of Art in Annapolis, and Wayne State University in Detroit. Her career intersects both theory and practice. She recently returned from a sabbatical to Australia, where she was the only non-Australian member of a team of education professionals working on an extensive research project focused on developing new approaches to ethics and research integrity training in higher education.
The exhibitions in Coming Home will be on display at UICA through January 8, 2017. Click here for more information.
