News Bites: MFA Drawing Alum Takes Top Prize in Competition at Art Basel Miami
Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University (KCAD) alumna Aneka Ingold (’14, MFA Drawing) recently won the $500 Grand Prize in the Vying 2015 competition held during Art Basel Miami.
Ingold’s winning piece, “The False Amnion,” was included in Miami-based gallery Viophilia’s exhibition at Art Basel Miami, which was titled “Vying.” This international juried exhibition showcased the work of fifteen talented artists from around the world, all of whom were eligible for the Grand Prize.

The win is another in a long list of Ingold’s recent achievements, which include her participation in prestigious group shows like “Immortality and Vulnerability” at Zhou B Art Center in Chicago and “Strange Figurations”at the Limner Art Gallery in Hudson, NY, as well as the inclusion of three of her drawings in the forthcoming International Drawing Annual 10 publication from Manifest Creative Research and Drawing Center.
