News Bites: MFA Printmaking Alum Named Operations Officer at DMC Design

Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University (KCAD) alum Mark Rumsey (’08, MFA Printmaking) was recently named Operations Officer at DMC Design, an interior design firm in Ada, Michigan. Rumsey started at DMC in 2014 as Creative Officer.

Rumsey also works as an artist, participating in exhibitions all around the world. His installation titled “mammatocumulus” is currently on display in a solo exhibition at Colorado State University through the month of February.

Over the past year, Rumsey participated in a traveling exhibition “Preservatif” in Madison, Wisconsin and Memphis, Tennessee, as well as the in the “Faces and Traces” exhibition at The Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai, China. He participated in ArtPrize2015 as a SiTE:LAB artist, taking part in their enormous Rumsey Street Project. This spring, he will be participating in an upcoming group exhibition titled “Some Abstraction Requiredat the Spartanburg Art Museum in South Carolina.

Rumsey also recently joined Dinderbeck , a Grand Rapids letterpress shop and artist resource center established by a group of KCAD alumni, as a Keyholder Resident Artist.
