The video, produced by Crafty88 and Brass Brothers Films, is the first in what will be a series of seven videos titled “Making Art” that will explore different artists and their processes, following them through their daily routines of making in order to inspire other artists.

Titled “RESOLVE,” the video follows Sanchez as he talks about why he makes art, how he chooses his mediums, and what roles discomfort and observation play in his work.

“I think once you’re comfortable, that’s when things get stale,” he says in the video, “and then what am I painting for?”
