Recent Grad Takes 1st Place

2010 graduate Dustin Farnsworth, Sculpture and Functional Art, was awarded First Place and $2500 for his piece, "Looming Genes and Rooted Dreams" in the Saginaw Valley State University Biennial Sculpture Exhibition.

The exhibition was open to all living sculptors residing within 200 miles of the Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum, located on the college campus. All works were required to be entirely original and completed within the last five years.

An opening reception to meet the artists will be held at the Museum, Saturday, July 10 from 1 ?? 3 pm. Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP by calling 989-964-7082.

The show, which runs July 3 ?? September 18, 2010, was curated by Charles McGee, a sculptor and printmaker from Detroit.
