Posted May 31, 2017 in AlumniSculpture and Functional Art

Since graduating from the Sculpture and Functional Art program at Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University in 2004, Jeffrey Meeuwsen (BFA) has become a leader in building creative communities in West Michigan and beyond.

Following a 10-year stint as Executive Director of Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts and a three-year run with ArtPrize in a similar executive role, Meeuwsen now leads the Ragdale Foundation. The Lake Forest, Ill.-based nonprofit offers retreat and residency opportunities to artists and writers while increasing the accessibility of the arts through community-focused initiatives.

As the Ragdale Foundation’s Executive Director since 2012, Meeuwsen has been busy growing the organization and its impact. Recently, the suburban Chicago publication Daily North Shore explored the work Meeuwsen and his colleagues and collaborators are doing in an article found here
