Students Create Functional Art With ‚??Au Natural‚?? Wood Chests Made Ready For Auction
Teams of Kendall students have turned two- and three-drawer pieces of furniture into unique items of functional art. The generous donation of over 20 small unfinished chests are from Donghia Furniture and local furniture designer and Kendall alumnus, Joseph Jeup.
The student-named project ‚?? C.A.S.E. (Cabinetry Arts Student Exhibition) ‚?? will open to the public at an exhibition in the lobby of the J.W. Marriott Hotel in downtown Grand Rapids on Friday, March 5 at 5:30 p.m. and remain open until Friday, March 19 at 12 noon. After the public display, the chests will be transported to The Brass Works building at 648 Monroe NW where they will be available at auction during Kendall‚??s 5th Annual ‚??Bodies of Art‚?? Fashion Show at 8:00 p.m. that evening.
Proceeds from the auction will be divided among Kendall‚??s Student Activity groups to use with their favorite non-profit organization.
