Two Seniors Nominated for Windgate Fellowship

Amy Bailey and Caitlin Skelcey have been nominated for the 2011 Windgate Fellowship. Bailey is an undergraduate senior majoring in Drawing and minoring in Printmaking. Skelcey is a dual major, studying Metals/Jewelry and Painting.

The prestigious Windgate Fellowship will ultimately be given to 10 students from across the nation. Each Windgate Fellow will receive $15,000 to complete a proposal presented in his/her application. This is the fourth year of the Windgate Fellowship awards, a program supported by the Windgate Charitable Trust and administered by the Center for Craft, Creativity and Design. The Windgate Fellowship award was established in 2007 to help encourage and advance the development of serious, innovative artists whose work is in some way related to the process, material, or idea of craft.

Past Kendall recipients include Dustin Farnsworth (??10, Sculpture, Woodworking and Functional Art), Timothy Maddox (??07 Woodworking & Metals) and Chulyeon Park (??07 Furniture Design). 2011 winners will be selected in March.
