Writing Professor Speaks

Posted May 6, 2010

In March 2010, Susanna Engbers, Chair of Liberal Arts and Sciences, presented a paper at the annual Conference on College Composition and Communication, the largest national conference for teachers of rhetoric and composition. The paper, co-presented with her English-professor husband Chad, was titled ??Couples in Collaboration: Mixing and Remixing our Pedagogies.? It addressed the multiple ways in which collaborations between ??intimate academics? (i.e., academic couples, married or otherwise) can offer a kind of gold standard for other academic collaborations.

Susanna is also looking forward to the publication of her article, entitled ?? 'What??s My Angle Here??? An Exercise in Invention,?? ? which offers a practical classroom strategy for helping students to develop effective thesis statements.
