Claas Kuhnen’s recent body of work focuses on the social and psychological aspects of consumption in western culture, the loss of traditional social values, and our attempt to find commercially available replacements for them. He combines traditional and contemporary technologies, seamlessly integrating his background in design, silversmithing and the latest computer-aided design technology. This approach allows him to fabricate small monuments that illustrate this particular paradox in our daily lives.
