liberalartsandsciences,

Assistant Professor
Janice Prewitt's studies at the University of Kansas focused on three areas: composition theory, nineteenth and twentieth-century British literature (with a post-colonial emphasis), and literary theory. Her studies also provided her with greater awareness of the challenges within the field of composition as well as insight into the approaches being tested to meet those challenges. Janice taught higher-education writing and literature for 25 years and directed the Writing Center at Emporia State University for three years. Janice has presented papers at various local, regional, national and international conferences on topics related to fantasy literature, service-learning, writing center theory and pedagogy. Most recently, she collaborated with her husband, Dr. Kenneth Prewitt (Assistant Professor of Voice at Western Michigan University) in a presentation at the University of Nebraska, Omaha, on literature and music.
