Dr. Adam Schuitema is a member of the General Education faculty at Kendall, where he teaches a variety of humanities courses, including Creative Writing, Fiction Workshop, Visual Rhetoric, and sections devoted to modern literature. He earned his Ph.D. and MFA from Western Michigan University and joined Kendall in 2007.
Adam is a fiction writer and author of the short-story collection Freshwater Boys, published by Delphinium Books and distributed by HarperCollins. The collection was named a “Michigan Notable Book” by the Library of Michigan in 2011. His stories have appeared in numerous national literary journals, including Glimmer Train, the North American Review, and the Indiana Review.
