After graduating with a degree in Art Education from Aquinas College in 1970, Gary joined Kendall in 1973 teaching foundation drawing, perspective and life drawing. In 1982 Gary earned his M.A. in Humanities from California State University, and in 1985 he added an M.F.A. in Painting from Western Michigan University. He joined the Graphic Design faculty in 1986, teaching typography, publication, marketing and marker drawing. Keeping abreast of technological advances, Gary developed a series of interactive courses and began teaching 3D modeling and animation. He joined the Digital Media program in 2006, where he continues to teach the 3D animation series of classes.
