Etsy: Setting Up Your Shop

With instructions from official Etsy online sources, discover how to design your Etsy shop for greater visibility and increased sales. Learn to set up or polish the set-up of your shop, get found, curate your shop, how to ship, and price your items. Workshop is suitable for new sellers or those who already have a shop to promote, and for sellers of art, craft, or vintage items. Existing shop owners who wish to participate in the “shop critique” must provide a link to their shop one week prior to the workshop.

Learn to mix clear glass with your choice of color using gravity and a hot torch flame to make a marble that can be transformed into many different objects of your choice, including a pendant, sun catcher, ring, fish, or bee. Then learn to make 3-D objects using a 4 spot welding technique out of solid clear glass rods. In the last class you will focus on working with blowing into tubing to shape a flower design or any hollow shape. The instructor will demonstrate all methods and also more advanced shapes and possibilities like a wine glass. No previous experience necessary.
Alla Prima Painting

Alla prima comes from Italian, literally meaning "at once." Instead of building colors up with layers or glazing over an underpainting, alla prima paintings are completed while the paint is still wet. Learn to start and finish a painting (oil or acrylic) in one session, also developing the expressive quality of your work. View examples from the history of art while learning techniques to achieve similar results. Tuition: $59, supplies additional.
