Portfolio Camp enables you to:
Understand the basics of organizing and presenting your work
Begin translating your art and/or design skills to KCAD’s creative community
Explore the KCAD campus and its resources
Emerge prepared for the application process
Over the course of two weeks you’ll become completely immersed in an artistic exploration that will change the way you think about your creative potential. You’ll experiment with still life, figure or landscape drawing, design drawing, printmaking, 3D printing, and create 2-4 finished portfolio pieces. You’ll meet one-on-one with KCAD Admissions staff to review your current work and set goals for your future. You’ll bond with your fellow aspiring creatives through group activities, and connect with current KCAD undergraduate students, many of whom are Portfolio Camp alumni. Portfolio Camp tuition ($1195) includes over 70 hours of studio time guided by KCAD faculty and Continuing Studies instructors, 1-2 personalized portfolio review session, field trip admission to Frederick Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, and two studio nights each week, including a light dinner.
Students are responsible for bringing their own art supplies and for purchasing their own lunch daily, along with most dinners. They’re also highly encouraged to bring previously created works of art (or photos and documentation of such) to portfolio review sessions.

Portfolio Camp 2019: July 15 - July 26, 2019

Tuition for Portfolio Camp is $1195.00, and includes admission to all scheduled activities and some dinners. Students must provide their own art supplies. A 50% deposit is due with your application to Portfolio Camp. Final payment is due July 1. To register, click here or call 616.451.2787, ext. 3012. Housing (optional), based on double occupancy, is available nearby for an additional $1195. Housing cost includes room, linens, transportation, and supervision. Coin operated laundry facilities are available nearby.
A full refund of tuition and fees will be issued for withdrawal requests received in writing on or before the final registration deadline of July 1 (Session I) or July 15 (Session II). A $100 administrative fee will be charged for withdrawal requests submitted in writing after the registration deadline, but before camp begins. A pro-rated refund will be issued for withdrawal request submitted after camp begins, and a $100 administrative fee will be charged. There will be no refunds issued after the first full week of camp.
