Sarah Joseph has been the Director of Exhibitions at Kendall since 2001. She received her MFA in Sculpture from the University of Oregon and BFA from Miami University in Ohio. Prior to joining Kendall, she spent a number of years doing gallery/museum work in various institutions. In addition to her position at KCAD she has served as an officer in the Grand Rapids Gallery Association since 2003.
Curator of ExhibitionsEmail Michele
Michele creates original exhibition programming and showcases a diverse cross-section of challenging contemporary works. She earned her MFA and Certificate in Museum Studies from Northern Illinois University, where she was the recipient of the Medici Award and a Distinguished University Fellowship. Michele joined the gallery in 2009 and has been curating independently and institutionally for the past ten years.

Tanya Bakija is a Lead Preparator who works with local, national and international artists at The Fed Galleries @ KCAD. Working in exhibitions since 2006, Tanya knows what it takes to put together award-winning exhibitions, and how a trip to a museum can become an experience.
Tanya has curated exhibitions, notably “Crossing the Rubicon: Contemporary Animation & Storytelling” and collaborates with regional organizations including the GRAM, GVSU, and UICA. Adding to her experience, Tanya takes every opportunity to develop her museum skills by participating in conferences and workshops. Tanya holds a MFA in Painting from KCAD.
Assistant PreparatorEmail Steven
Steven Vinson is the Assistant Preparator. He is also the owner of Spiral Gallery and is an adjunct faculty member both at KCAD and GVSU. He received a BFA from Herron School of Art and Design and MFA in Painting from Kendall.
The KCAD Galleries also rely on our fantastic crew of student workers. They assist with exhibition installations, greet gallery visitors, and accomplish a wide range of ever-changing tasks. Thanks crew!
