KCAD Continuing Studies Now Offering Pathway to AdobeĀ® Certification

Area professionals and students seeking to diversify their career opportunities can now become officially certified in the latest Adobe software through newly added components to classes offered by the Continuing Studies program at Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University (KCAD).

Three existing Continuing Studies courses focused on Adobe’s industry-standard Creative Cloud software suite will now include an option to earn, through authorized Adobe representative Certiport, Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) certification in one of three of the suite’s most popular applications: Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. ACA certification, Adobe’s entry-level certification, ensures users are effectively and efficiently able to implement their design ideas, using one of three specialized software programs.

“In an increasingly competitive job market, ACA certification demonstrates your digital communication skills in a way that simply listing them on your résumé can’t,” said Director of Continuing Studies Brenda Sipe. “Our Adobe courses are already empowering people to do more professionally by enabling them to create effective and engaging digital media; now, by offering ACA certification, we’re further strengthening the connection between our classrooms and the real world.”

To earn ACA certification, individuals must pass the official Adobe certification exam for the given software application. Participants in these KCAD courses, which are led by ACA-certified instructors, will learn everything they need to know to pass the certification exam, and for an additional cost of $150 can have access to a practice exam and two attempts at the full exam. Exams are taken at KCAD, now a Certiport testing site. Adobe will provide certification materials upon successful completion of the exam.

KCAD Continuing Studies will begin offering Adobe courses with an optional ACA certification component in fall 2017. For more information and complete course listings, please visit the KCAD Continuing Studies ACA Certification registration page.
